The song is actually about Carey, the bass player. It was about a girl he knew at university and he was so in love with her but she was engaged to someone else. He basically knew he had to let her know that he loved her and its all the emoitions he felt as he went to tell her... ..the story doesn't end there, she realised she loved him and now they are married!!
