Day Old Hate Lyrics

So let’s face it this was never what you wanted
And I know its fun to pretend
Now blank stares and empty threats
Are all I have, they’re all I have.

So drown me and if you can
Or we could just have conversation.
And I fall, I fall, I fall down
But I found you, before I drift away

Now you still speak of day old hate
Though your whole world has gone up into flames
And isn’t it great to find that you’re really worth nothing
And how safe it is to feel safe.

So drown me and if you can
Or we could just have conversation.
And I fall, I fall, I fall down
But I found you, before I drift away

The things we do just to stay alive
The things we do just to stay alive
The things we do just to stay alive
The things we do just to keep ourselves alive.

This is what i got out of it: Enjoy

He wanted this girl so very badly but she never showed those feelings back, maybe at first. He knew she was pretending all along, even though she swore she was really in love with him and she was happy (LIE).

When they try to have a convo...its just gone, when he looks in her eyes theres nothing; empty. When ever he does something wrong she glares; theres tention. She probably has a drinking problem, he just wants to talk to her. but the less answers he gets from her, the more he drinks and he is drifting away but if he could somehow find her again. she is constantly throwing some stupid mistake in his face....she can't let go of it..he doesn't understand completely. and she cant get over that stupid thing, while his life has gone up into flames. She makes him feel like he is worth nadah. He is trying to keep himself; to convince himself that life is worth living.

the lyrics are amazing, first of all. & i would say that... this song is about a relationship [maybe] where the two people faded apart, something bad happened, or it was a bad break up. i think maybe he is talking about his ex's suffering & by saying "Now isn't great to find, that you're really worth nothing." is just saying that he's over her...and he was in pain for so long, and now it was her turn. perhaps.

i don't know.

Mistake: "And I fall, I fall, I fall down" Correction: "And I fall, I fall, I faulter..." (the lyrics are right in the CD case)
