Basement Ghost Singing

I found an interview of BEN. SKRATCH: Could you explain the significance behind the title "WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU'RE DEAD"? BEN: That's kind of a big question. I think the album title should encompass everything you want the CD to be. I think you can look at it a couple ways. One, [you can] take the album as a storyline-like, this story we made about a person who died and then came back and is haunting people from the past, that WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU'RE DEAD. If you want to look at the album having to nothing with the storyline, it's just an album written about what to do when you're completely numb and bored with everything [...] I kind of hope that our album will have more than one meaning, and people can take from it what they want.

this is my favorite song on the album. its amazing. =)

I love this song, I personally think that it's about someone who is despertaly wanting someone to hear what they have to say, so much that this person will trap themselves from their own outside life, but the person that hes trying to reach, won't listen, but the person is determind not to give up, even though he knows its doubtful he'll ever get her to listen.

best song imo on the new cd.

Best part of the song for me. It's like he wants to be with her again, but he understand it would just bring her more grief in the end so he sacrifices his own happiness for hers.

ok for everyone who does not know this cd is actually a story...car underwater is when he dies the rest of the songs he is dead but this has to be a very good example of him being dead. he has back from heaven bc if you listen to the truth about heaven he is saying its raining in heaven so he comes back down to earth to be with his loved one so basically he is in the basement singing to her and hes trying to reach out to her and we dont know if he does or does not reach out to her...thats my perspective of this but basically the entire cd is about a guy coming back from heaven to around his loved one i like it...its something different than what im usually hearing GREAT SONG BEST ON HERE

What an interesting concept. i freaking dig this song. I agree with the previous post that he's a ghost singing to his still living loved one but they are oblivious to his being in her basement....eerie...

thats the saddest, greatest and whateveres song i've heard......im still sitting here...listen to it 1000 times, thinking at my relationship and cry :(......

This song is deep I found it by accident Its a great song on a great album,I only have one fear that this song becomes another blvd of broken dreams

I'm almost certain that

should be

"The lights are off And I’m lost again [x6] Lights are off"
