Santa Monica Lyrics
I'm pretty sure the line is supposed to be 'She fills my bed with gasoline, you'd think I would've noticed.'
Santa Monica represents a false hope for something better. Basically he's talkin about a girl who left him because she was coaxed away by the thought of something better...
really godd song..love it..agree wiht your interpretation...
The only thing I do't get is what does "don't you wish you were dead liek me?" means?
I think that this line refers to how he feels he has no emotions, his heart is dead because she's gone away from him.
I get the idea that this song is about a girl who left him for something better, but he doesn't think she got what she wanted, that it wasn't all that it seemed.
"It hurts to breathe" shows that he misses her, is devastated, but
"Her minds made up the girl is gone And now I’m forced to see I think I’m on my way"
Shows that he realises that she's not going to do anything more for the relationship and that he can't change her mind.
I love this song and how it really portrays all the emotions he seems to be feeling. He has an amazing voice, no?
herdarkesthell: "And when she said Don’t you wish you were dead like me"
The girl is the one who says that line...it's not about him.
To me this song is about taking things for granted, then leaving everything behind. When you leave it all behind you realize how lucky you are to have it and how much you need it. Thats just me tho
this song is about nothing lasting for ever..it is ture too
I heard somewhere this song's title was referring to Santa Monica Blvd, as in the women he is talking about is a prostitute. Hence she has to leave for "Santa Monica" and the reference to being "Dead like Me"...something to that effect anyways. Think about it.
i love this song...the best part is the 2nd verse...i totally know how he feels
