The guy in the song realizes how much this girl loves him, and feels ashamed because he thinks himself as unworthy of her affection. She faithfully remains by his side through thick and thin like she always promised. In the second stanza, the guy is puzzled by the fact that she would still stay devoted to him despite the fact that he doesn’t deserve it. The reference to "mistakes" and "looking down" suggests that he cheated on her, or did something else to hurt her. He feels deeply sorry for his mistakes and apologizes to her by stating that he can't be everything that she deserves in a boyfriend.
I think this song is really sweet and I can relate to it myself. The lyrics and beat are amazing and are packed with feeling. It’s a shame that more people don’t listen to Daphne Loves Derby because their music is awesome.

well to answer your question i think he whispers "i am so vile..." and yeah the rest is right. it makes sense both with the other lines and if he didnt think this girl was so in love with him at first. so yeahh.
