I Believe Lyrics

Every now and then,
Soft as breath upon my skin,
I feel you come back again
And it's like you haven't been.
Gone a moment from my side,
Like the tears were never cried,
Like the hands of time are holding you and me.

And with all my heart I'm sure
We're closer than we ever were,
I don't have to hear or see,
I've got all the proof I need.
There are more than angels watching over me
I believe,
Oh I believe.

Now when you die your life goes on
It doesn't end here when it's gone
Every soul is filled with light
It nevers end and if I'm right
Our love can even reach across eternity
I believe,
Oh I believe.

Forever you're a part of me
Forever in the heart of me
I will hold you even longer if I can
Oh, the people who don't see the most
Say that I believe in ghosts
And if that makes me crazy, then I am
'Cause I believe

Oh I believe,
There are more than angels watching over me
I believe,
Oh I believe

Every now and then
Soft as breath upon my skin
I feel you come back again
And I believe.

This song has great meaning to me. I had believed our dead loved ones never truly went away that they remain to watch over us in times of need. My mother In-law is the one to convince me of that she too honestly believed it. The first time I heard this song it was on CMT I was sitting with my son. Earlier that day 3 of my 4 kids and I were in a car accident, I had as a spur of the moment thing I allowed my other child stay home and play with the neighbor. When our car was struck it was were that child would have been sitting had he been in the car. They said it was a miracle that the worst injury out of us all was a few stitches to the head, we all walked away, when we shouldn't have. I don't care what anyone says or thinks I know that my mother In-law had been watching over all of that day. ( She had passed away almost exactly one year before the accident.)

By the end of the song, I was in tears holding my child just thankful that we were still there.

I'm amazed that this song only has one comment...

This song is so powerful to me... It had just come out and was getting lots of radio play... I loved the song, but it was just another song to me... Then one day I got a call out of the blue from a friend who told me to come see her in the hospital.

I went to visit her, not knowing what to expect. When I got there, I got filled in on the details... My friend Angie had been diagnosed with terminal breast cancer. She was 23 years old, and was going to die of this terrible disease. On the way home, this song came on the radio, and I was so overcome by it that I had to pull over and compose myself to finish my drive home.

I'm not a terribly spiritual person, but I really think I was guided to this song, to give me some perspective and comfort to deal with the death of my friend.

Rest in Peace Angie. We still love you.

I don't really believe in the message of the song, but its still one of the most haunting songs I've ever heard. Definitely a favorite song of mine.

this song has allot of meaning to me, we all lose someone that is near and dear to them . .. but this song is telling you to stay strong and BELIEVE that they are still with you in spirt!!!

the line "Now when you die your life goes on, It doesn't end here when it's gone, Every soul is filled with light" . .. i see the meaning is that they might not be with you to hold you when said . . i mean phisicly but . . the presents of them holding you . . drying your tears and making sure your safe will ALWAYS be there no matter what . . if you only . . look up and believe

xXx
