Disneyland Lyrics

I Woke up got my lazy ass out of bed
I Watered all the rocks growing in my head
I Had a thought and fell asleep on you

There I was somewhere West of Tomorrow Land
Flying through the stars just like Peter Pan
I said Damn this looks too good to be true

There she goes my heart again (would you mind rolling over)
I can feel it in the air (something’s coming down)
I don’t know and I don’t care that it’s a small world

It’s a nice day if you wake up in Disneyland
It’s a nice day when you wake up in Disneyland

In my dream everybody’s got a little house
A dog, a bank account managed by Mickey Mouse
And the only thing we fight about is the Lakers

In my dream all the pirates down in Neverland
Never get the Hook they just get a hand
While the crocs sing Superman till we just can’t take it

There she goes my heart again (do you mind rolling over)
I can feel it in the air (something’s coming down)
I don’t know and I don’t care if it’s a small world

It’s a nice day when you wake up in Disneyland
It’s a nice day if you wake up in Disneyland

We can fly away:

I Woke up got my lazy ass out of bed
I Watered all the rocks growing in my head
I Had a thought and I looked up to see

The sign read the park she’s closed today
E-tickets don’t work here no more anyway
Where every day's a magic day to be free You see

It’s a nice day when you wake up in Disneyland
It’s a nice day should you wake up in Disneyland
It’s your L.U.C.K.Y. day should you wake up in Disneyland
It’s a nice day should you wake up in Disneyland

I cannot believe nobody has comented on this song! It's not my favorite on the album, but I love it anyway. It's just catchy and fun to sing along to.

if there's any song that i just always need to sing along to from FFF its this one. It makes me think of my dreams. I known for having crazy ones. But dreams although not real and one think that makes me feel truely alive cause i'm anything there. I love this song.

In this song, John is talking about how hard life is usually, but not every day is hard. "its a nice day when you wake up in disneyland" is a metaphore that some days nothing can get you down and you feel like you did as a kid going to disneyland and having a blast all day.

to me it sounds like he is married or has a girlfriend and keeps dreaming of girl in his dreams to him who is perfect.he then list all the things in his dreams which is there, and the only bad thing there is, is them fighting about the lakers. he then wakes up and realizes that it was only a dream. but also realizes what a great life he has.

yea, i think the key part is "it's a nice day when you wake up in disneyland" like you can be blissfully happy anytime you want. no matter what's going on in your life, you have that child in you who can make you feel happy. you just need to let him. =]

There's this short play By David Ives Called "The Philadelphia"...

The main characters are Mark & Al.

Mark comes to Al in a state of panic and says that anything he asks for he can't get. His deli doesn't have the meat he wants. His taxi driver refuses to go where he asks to be driven. The drugstore doesn't have the medicine he needs. The newsstand doesn't have the paper he wants, etc, etc.

Al says, "Nothing to worry about, you're just in a Philadelphia." Mark asks, "What's that mean? What's a Philadelphia?" Al answers, "Anything you ask for you can never get, the trick is to ask for the opposite and you'll get what you want."

The waitress in the restaurant they are in tells Al that his boss called and he lost his job Also, he and his girlfriend recently broke up and a bunch of other bad stuff is happening But Al doesn't even seem to care, which really gets Mark confused...

"How can you be so calm?" asks Mark. "I'm in a Los Angeles," he says.

The basic concept of the play is that "everyone's gotta be someplace" It uses the names of Cities to illustrate different states of being. being in "a Los Angeles" means everything feels fine even if it isn't. being in "a Philadelphia" means you can't get what you want. The waitress is in "a Cleveland" which she says is like "Death without the advantages"

I highly recommend the play. You can read the script in the book "Take Ten: New 10-Minute Plays" Anyway...

This song always makes me think of that play. When you wake up in Disneyland (the happiest place on Earth) I wonder if John Ondrasik ever saw that play.

I think Disneyland is the utopia of the 'American dream'. The sign read the park she's closed today...we never did get that dream.
