One Shot At Glory Lyrics
Let me hear the battle cry
Calling on the wind
Let me see the banners fly
Before the storm begins
Let me feel the spirits soar
Destroy the enemy
Striking at the evil core
For all the world to see
This day will last forever
Deep in the hearts of men
Courage and victory
Remember, remember
One shot at glory
In the crossfire overhead
Fate stands before me
Words have all been said
One shot at glory
Driving hard and seeing red
Destiny calls me
One night of fire
One shot at glory
Fighting on with dignity
In life and death we deal
The power and the majesty
Amidst the blood and steel
I still hear the battle cry
The call goes on and on
I still see the banners fly
The battle’s always won
Calling on the wind
Let me see the banners fly
Before the storm begins
Destroy the enemy
Striking at the evil core
For all the world to see
Deep in the hearts of men
Courage and victory
Remember, remember
In the crossfire overhead
Fate stands before me
Words have all been said
Driving hard and seeing red
Destiny calls me
One night of fire
One shot at glory
In life and death we deal
The power and the majesty
Amidst the blood and steel
The call goes on and on
I still see the banners fly
The battle’s always won

This song is about the shot that Luke Skywalker hits in the first Death Star!
I think this is about war and patriotism, that's what i think so leave me alone!
I love this song, very cool ending to the album. The song pretty much explains it's self, no deep meaning. A very good song for motivation, a bit like their other song 'United'.
Yep, definitely about war and patriotism. awesome song
I slightly disagree with the previous posters. I think this song is about war, but mainly (I still hear the battle cry, I still see the banners fly) the effect it has on people, for better or for worse long after it's over, and how anybody who lives through a war will never forget it.
This song is about war on the surface, but if you dig a little deeper it's easy to see that war, in this case, is a metaphor. The song is about performing on stage. "Let me hear the battle cry, calling on the wind." That's referring to the roar of the crowd. The "enemy" is the hatred and negativity in life. The very things we go to a concert to escape from, to celebrate human potential with other like minded persons. "Once shot at glory" means as a performer, you have one night, one chance to blow people's minds. There's no take two. It's a live performance. You get, literally, one shot at glory. An amazing song. Jesus those solos. Fuck me.
i think its about that one moment you have in your battle when you are failing and you find that one point were you can succeed, were you triumph and do the best youve ever done. were you stand above everyone else and shine like no other. This song makes me feel as though i can achieve anything. lol
