Angel Lyrics
Put sad wings around me now
Protect me from this world of sin
So that we can rise again
We could find our way somehow
Escaping from the world we're in
To a place where we began
And I know we'll find
A better place and piece of mind
Just tell me that it's all you want
For you and me
Angel,
Remember how we chased the sun
Then reaching for the stars at night
As our lives had just begun
When I close my eyes
I hear your velvet wings and cry
I'm waiting here with open arms
Oh can't you see
Angel shine your light on me
When all my sins are washed away
Hold me inside your wings and stay
Angel take me far away
Angel take me far away
Put sad wings around me now
So that we can rise again
Put sad wings around me now
Angel take me far away
Put sad wings around me now
So that we can rise again

It's about how they believe in an afterlife

I think It's about the fallen angel....it's about the state of being "fallen" .... "Oh Angel we can find our way somehow Escaping from the world we're in To a place where we began" he says to the place where they began

I know that I'm always wrong about this kind of stuff but I can see the song being about drugs or something,"And I know we'll find A better place and peace of mind Just tell me that it's all you want For you and me Angel won't you set me free"

Actually now that i think about it alot of other lines make sense with it being about drugs: "Angel put sad wings around me now Protect me from this world of sin So that we can rise again"
"Angel we'll meet once more, I'll pray When all my sins are washed away Hold me inside your wings and stay Angel take me far away "
i think i could pretty much take this whole song but you can see the lyrics above, anyway i hope someone tells me what they think.

I always thought of Rob Halford longing back to Judas Priest. To get back together with the greatest band of the world, I think Judas Priest is the Angel.
@baziz Yeah, exactly! More specifically, impersonated by the Fallen Angel from cover of their 2nd album, Sad Wings of Destiny - "a place where we began... remember how we chased the sun, then reaching for the stars at night, as our lives had just begun" - they were seeking a breakthrough in those days. He hopes that they "can find our way somehow, escaping from the world we're in" - the world where neither he, nor they are as successful as they were together. So he's "waiting here with open arms... angel we'll meet once more I'll pray, when all my sins...

This song always reminds me of one person I love, but I mever had a chance to tell her about what I feel.

Singer is referring his lost lover as an angel. She might be dead or long gone for some reason. The second paragraph makes it all so clear.
Anyway, this couple had their misunderstandings, now the singer want to reset everything again between them, he started asking by "Just tell me that its all you want, for you and me"

I'm very disappointed in the low turn-out on the Judas Priest pages. Especially right when the new album comes out and it's rumored that it sold 70,000 copies in it first week in America alone.

Pretty song.

Not many metal heads go to www.songmeanings.net, that's why there's so few comment, I believe.
