Migration Lyrics

My love will sail this ship
through great storms and ice floes.
He is not afraid as I am,
he is not afraid.

And this is why he knows the way.
And this is why he knows the way.
He knows the way.

Oh my brothers and sisters, he is so kind,
despite the losses that have made us this sad.
Five blocks of sidewalk chalk he steers us clear of,
blue ice skaters and animals.

And this is why he knows the way.
And this is why he knows the way.
He knows the way.

All the birds of this neighborhood are leaving.
Some days we feel left behind.

So beautiful! One of my favorites by the Innocence Mission!

I like the lines "Oh my brothers and sisters, he is so kind / despite the losses that have made us this sad."

this song makes me think of trusting in something other than yourself to get through things, and even at times when it seems things are as bad as they can get, that person still keeps going, which in turn makes you go on. very beautiful.

i relate so much to the last lines. it's hard keeping up when sometimes you feel like everything's passing you by. it's hard feeling like a piece of the past when you thought you'd be part of the future that now seems so hard to reach.
