Mending hand bleeding and
Lend my hands the wheel, you fly over me
Let it go now, you've been glad too
With my hand as the wheel you cry over me
I would like to be a child
Drown with me until you die

I thought I, I heard you cry
But it's just the wheels that ride over me
But then I, I know that's why
When I hear you sneeze

You're my dancing girl
I never thought you'd mean the world
It's why I'm here and why it seems reliable
So much time for us
There's nowhere here but there it was
The tale I had, and you became a friend again

I can hear them
They lost their sense and feelings
When you touch the wheel
I'll be alright asleep forever

I would like to be a child
Drown with me until you die

You're my dancing girl
I never thought you'd mean the world
It's why I'm here, and why it seems reliable
So much time for us
There's nowhere here but there it was

This song is so gorgeous. It is written with so much vulnerability and nievity, but still so powerful. It's about the seemingly endless perfection of new-found love, something we all can relate to. One of my favorites from ATFM.

The lyrical style sounds a lot like their song Eight Flew Over, One Was Destroyed and Her Voice Is Beyond Her Years in that they deal with some sort of transportation crashing. Wheels Over Me seems to be a song about a guy who is whispering a confession for his girlfriend after getting hit by a car on his way to see her.

Dunno...im the only one who thinks is about life after died? he dies and his spirit is with her, she became a friend cuz he cant touch her anymore... this part I thought I heard you cry. But it's just the wheels that ride over me. i think while he was dying he saw her crying but it was confuse by the sound of the wheels or maybe his own crying and hey, maybe im crazy, but here i think he came for her, to take her to another life where they can live toguether but he prefer to stayed and see her, and well the breeze could be carring a whisper from him to her... a tale... i think is about life after dying You're my dancing girl. I never thought you'd mean the world. It's why I'm here and why it seems reliable.

So much time for us, there's nowhere here but there it was. The tale I told in a breeze

Well this is my perspective of this song, quite creepy... i guess xD

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
