Red & Violet Lyrics
He eats red and all violet
Kills fishes with a rock star flag
Caught up in a vacuum breeze where
Moans and cries dissolve in speed
It's your life without a life
(Red & violet fades)
It's your life without a life
(Red & violet fades)
He eats red and all violet
Newer skin makes him giant
And he's bought a grin, soon to leave
Tenor howls dissolve in speed
It's your life without a life
(Red & violet fades)
Running out of running time with your life without a life
(Red & violet fades)
Please don't send another rose this time
(Please don't, what you hold will fade just like a rose and you'll be alone, can't you see that what you hold it isn't gold)
Please don't send another goddamn rose
The desire's sweet you keep taking blood from me
Please don't send another goddamn rose
Please don't send another goddamn rose
It's your life without a life
(Red & violet fades)
Running out of running time and in the end you're gonna find
(red & violet fades)
Red & violet fades
Red & violet fades
Please don't send another rose

I think this song is about someone who is in love with another that doesn't them them as well. I think Free is trying to say that love fades, it's not forever.
I think that as well. This song and spank have similar meanings to me...of course I could be just crazy ._. lub lub
I can't help but wonder if Free isn't using this song to emphasize the necessity of conducting improvisational interpretations of her own lyrics. From this perspective, the colors are examples of abstract things that do not exist in reality. Instead of being real the colors are sensory experiences that represent a real object. In this regard, the interpretation of the colors are dependent on mindset of the observer.
Alternately, I think that the color 'red' may represent passion and anger while violet (a hue of blue) represents sorrow and inspiration.
To me the song seems to be about a rock star who feels empty and like he's living a lie while influencing the schools of "fishes" (the young generation) with his destructive value system. The theme strongly reminds me of musician Marilyn Manson and his brand of "I am the anti-Christ" centric "Shock Rock". The musician turns to drugs to fuel his passions and escape his inner emptiness. He's "cool" but lacks substance and feels empty inside ("the vacuum breeze").
