Blue eyed dressed for every situation
Moving through the doorway of a nation
Pick me up and shake the doubt
Baby I can't do without
Move out, don't mess around
Move out, you bring me down
Move out, how you get about
Don't make a sound just move out
I remember only for an hour
Move right through me can you feel the power
I don't know what's going on
It scares me but it won't be long
Move out, don't mess around
Move out, you bring me down
Move out, how you get about
Don't make a sound just move out
Now he's in control he is my lover
Nations stand against him he's your brother
Been a long time, been a long time now
I'll get to you somehow
Move out, don't mess around
Move out, you bring me down
Move out, how you get about
Don't make a sound just move out
Move out, don't mess around
Move out, you bring me down
Move out, how you get about
Don't make a sound just move out

Awwww yeah! :) Alison's signature laugh that has been sampled on every dance track this side of '86. :)
Awesome song!!
Although, its not particularly cheery. To me, its about the destruction of some sort of relationship, and not necessarily a romantic one. I'm confused as to the last part of it though...

If someone could explain that one, it'd be great. :)
@StripedSocks I think the whole song is about party , sexuality ( being gay or bissexual ) and drugs. This part seems to be about some party drug ( cocaine or LSD ) . The song writer wants to go out and have a party , and is disappointed with his lover . But he wants to have fun anyway .

About the closet and gay liberation.
How do you know this?
How do you know this?
The singer who sings this is a woman so I don't think it is about gay liberation. My interpretation is this is about drugs and getting high. If you read the lyrics you may see what I mean. Either way its a great song!!!
@DPEOPLES The singer may be a woman but I believe it was written from the perspective of the creative force behind the band, Vince Clarke, who was the cowrite of the song and happens to be gay.

To me, the song feels like its about sexual liberation. She has met a powerful lover who can make her lose her mind for an hour at a time. The blue eyed part (white) in the introduction seems inconsistent with the brotherly part (non-white) at the end? If it wasn't for that I would have no doubts this is about meeting a (new) powerful lover who may not meet with social norms, and bidding farewell to her current more conventional partner.

The Song is straight forward. A blue eyed man becomes her lover. People are "nations." He enters her "doorways." Now the other men ( male nations) are plotting against him over seducing her (female nation). Thus, the "situation " sparked by jealousy. It's about sex and jealousy.
That is so awesome, I think you're right. This song sounds amazing aswell.
Nah, too shabby
I think it's about espionage and international affairs
Well, we can settle for gay espionage i guess...
