Number Seven With A Bullet Lyrics

Walk alone.
I stare at the footprints of my life
I think I lost you when I began to run away
So far, so far away from home
Your approval was the only crown I seek
I no longer doubt myself
Too long I've walked in shadows of my worst enemies
Was it worth the game to lose our purities?
Won't wear the crown of thorns
Won't wear the mask of Judas
I'll never be who you want me to be
You'll never see the beauty I see
Mark me for death
Mask me for torture
I hope you see my face on your deathbed
You played the role of the angel
Now you'll see my face in hell
You fooled my mind with your selfish ambition
You played the role of the angel
Now you'll see my face in hell

This song makes me think no matter how hard I tried growing up to meet my mom's standards I never succeeded, and now that I am a grown woman she still tries to control every aspect of my life.

By the way, does anyone understand the link between the song title and the lyrics?

i agreed but his not specific who his referring too

"Too long I've walked in shadows of my worst enemies"

No time for love it doesn’t matter She made a difference I guess she had a way Of making every night seem bright as day Now I walk in shadows, never see the light

A few lines from the song "I Don't Believe In Love" performed by Queensryche.

Maybe nothing. maybe something.

I think its about Christians and any other religious hypocrites who try to shove their religion down your throat they pretend to be good and pure but like the line "Was it worth the game to lose our purities?" They were just faking the charade. I think its how the person the song is directed at played a game they thought was good but was'nt. In the end it left everyone accept you screwed. The last few lines scare me. It says you "You fooled my mind with your selfish ambition You played the role of the angel Now you'll see my face in hell" I think this is talking about how now that its over I'm in hell because of you. You filled me with the things you taught and kept the real stuff for yourself to keep yourself an angel.

Could be as @prophetofnothing suggested in that the Number 7 refers to a religious context (7 days for creation?). That could perhaps be the link with the Biblical references in the song. Or are they just a metaphor for their discontent towards trying to live their lives to the standards of others??
