the first part of this is amazing...which on my computer comes before this song, anyway

I can't believe not a lot of people commented on this! This is the first FBtMoF song I've heard, plus I am planning to do an image that's inspired by this song.

Can't really relate any experiences to it, I just think that this is beautiful

gotta love your fear before. it's a good/evil sort of thing. the girl would personify beauty, hope, love, etc. the father, or devil, would be her murderer/tormentor.

The beggining of this song, which is actually the ending to Go wash your mouth is one of the most moving songs I have ever heard. I can't put my finger on it but the guitar and the vocals are just extremely depressing

always though its posted that the acoustic ending to go wash you mouth is the beginning of this

those lyrics are wrong for the beginning and the middle talking part isnt even there when he says again

she cried when she found it he smiled as he watched her

like that part makes it into like a trap

in her dreams hes manipulating her dreams and she falls for it and i think that the acoustic part from go wash your mouth

is her dream of a fallen angel

and then this is when she is having the dream and he takes her life away

not sure why exactly i know fear before goes into god and such quite often in their songs but i dont see them heavily as a religous group of people

but maybe influenced by biblical literature

ill look into it. but its intense like all fear before

I think this song is about a broken dream and the decay of it the "she cried when she found it" part makes me think of a bird, and I think that the bird may have been a metaphor for a dream, maybe cause birds fly high up in the air and dreams are sometimes too high up for us to reach. When it says "wings were no longer able, still she begged it to fly" I think it's kind of that the dream hit rock bottom but she was desperate for it to 'soar' again, for it to come true. When it says that she "prayed it to heaven" I think it means that she's finally realised that her dream will never come true and so she's resigning all hope and laying it to rest. Or maybe it's simply talking about a dead bird.

"There will be no second knife"

I always heard this as "There will be a soaking knife" as in blood-soaked.

The 'second knife' part is correct however you can definitely tell that it is "a second knife" and not "no second knife" as there is no harsh -N consonant at the end of "be _a[no]"

my friend talked to adam about this song a while ago, and adam said this song is about him walking in on his sister getting raped in her room by her "friend"... its pretty fucked up

Actually I heard that this song, along with the rest on their debut album are based off of different movies. This one being The General's Daughter, where a character is raped.
