As for the meaning, I think it's about chasing a dream, finding that fragile light in all its darkness, and the search for that dream will take you through all the scum and shit the world has to offer, but you know if you make it it'll be worth it.
Fuck me if that's actually the right meaning, but it's a nice thought when you're listening to it.
