For years I have traveled in coldness
But my heart is warm as the darkened sun above me
Nothing can never take away
What I've seen with these tired eyes

Face of the weeping night
Watch the shade of the fading light

Ah, face of the weeping night

The dawn will never rise again for my eyes
When I will never sleep again
I've lost my hope time after time
'Cause the light has vanished from the sky

Now when the darkness has become part of me
I got to let my shadows free
'Cause I never looked behind, I never tried to find
Something that could have made me one
Now when the sorrow has taken control of me
I got to let my shadows free
'Cause I never looked behind, I never tried to find
Something that could have made me one
Something that I could reach the sun

Maybe this song is also dealing with Jari's leaving Ensiferum, just like "Death and the healing". He sings that he "gets to let his shadows free" - Jari often complained that he wasn't able to make his ideas real while singing/playing in Ensiferum. Now that he has left Ensiferum, he can let free his musical ideas and creations.

    My Interpretation

I feel like this song is about depression. Hear me out. The "darkness" and "coldness" are symbols of sadness, while "light" and "warmth" are symbols of happiness and hope. The intro describes how the world around him is dark and cold, but he still has hope in his heart even after years of depression. He claims "The dawn will never rise again for my eyes". This I think means that the world isn't going to bring him happiness. The lights vanishing from the sky are the things he enjoyed in life no longer being available to him and depression falling onto him. He then says "Now that the darkness has become a part of me, i have to let my shadows free". This of course means that his depression is so deeply ingrained into him that the only way for him to live is to get rid of it himself, cos he "never looked behind, never tried to find, something that could have made him one". He then repeats himself and says that he never tried to find something that he could reach the sun. Personally, i think the lyrics say raise the sun, which would show that he never tried to find something that could give him happiness, but instead wallowed, waiting for happiness to find him. Now however is the time for Jari to find something to do that will bring him joy and hope. Maybe "the sun" would be Wintersun?

Just my thoughts. What do you guys think?

Reaching the sun implies reaching some sort of higher plane, an afterlife perhaps? Heaven? But he never found it because he never looked back on what he'd done, ultimatly the speaker may have failed but but at least he has no regrets.

This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
