I wasn't aware that the spelling for Pearl had changed to Perl. Anyway, this is one hilarious song but one of the reasons it's so funny is because it's actually quite sweet. You can picture yourself seriously singing it about someone you love who's gone away even with all the stuff bagging Pearl Harbour. I reckon it's the funniest song in Team America. Just a crackup.

i love the Ben Affleck part.
I read the lyrics to this before I ever heard it and I laughed my ass off. Then I saw the movie and heard the song and laughed some more. It's so funny because its like as heart broken as he is, he can't get over how much that movie sucked, and therefore keeps going back to it. Absolutely a riot...
And speaking of Ben Affleck, did anyone see the deleted scene where he's talking and he's just a hand instead of a puppet? They should have kept that in, methinks... Most of what they took out I think they should have left in...

If I wasn't serious about trying to win my ex back (must stop mentioning her in comments....GAH!!!), this'd be my theme tune - I miss her, and I really do think Pearl Harbour sucked.
As funny as this song is, there is a truth to it aswell. Everyone has had their hearts broken at one time or another and everyone hates pearl Harbour and wishes Michael Bay would would wake from the deluded fantasy that he is anything more than a 'towel-snapping jock dick head', with a camera and no idea how to use it effectively.
This is my favorite song in the movie, I was nearly in tears, from laughing so hard.
