I can't believe no one has commented on this song. I can't believe it hasn't been on an album release. It is so self less and beautiful. Clearly shes in love with this person, but he 'meant' for "someone elses girl". Either they couldn't make it work or whatever and she wishes him the best, its such a beautiful sentiment, with such a sorrowful gorgeous tune behind it. swoon

i think it isss about a girl who wants this boy, but he belongs to someone else. and hes probably unhappy, and this girl wont let him speak for himself ( hence the "tell me your convoluted stories through half-rotten mouth, ")

no, I really like these lyrics. I think it's about her liking a boy who's with someone else and she can tell he's unhappy being with the someone else. and the line 'You could even find love in the arms of someone else’s girl.' I think the 'someone else's girl' is her, saying that she's with someone but she's not that happy either.

I like it. It show's the unhappieness that can be had even when your with someone. The way it feels to be with someone while wanting someone else. The way it feels to want someone who is already someone elses.

kind of reminds me of a relationship I'm trying to start right now, though he's not truly with someone and i'm not truly with anyone either. The same feelings are there.

To me, this song is all about my step son. He literally is someone else's boy, put through so much unnecessary pain. But he has that child-like resilience, and I hope to heaven he makes it out unscathed. (That is my hope for him. In reality, his pain is surfacing and it becoming clear. He understands what the situation with his mother really is, yet at the same time, he doesn't understand, because children want to idolize their mother. She can't have flaws in his eyes, because that would unravel his world.)
