The Crossing Lyrics

Can you hear me?
miles and miles up ahead,
theres a freight train comming,
the lights burnning red.
dont' you think the lines been drawin for you
this time the runnin's lost its hold on you
count the cars now as they roll threw,
lookin down now has you lookin up
stepin down the key and the engine's started up

now you searchin all those years gone by
you cannot imagine so you close your eyes
standin still but you're racin inside

all your rollin with the windows down and the sadles undone
in you need for constant motion you prove that you cannot run

Can you hear me?
miles and miles up ahead,
theres a freight train comming,
the lights are turnin agian
dont' you think the lines been drawin for you
this time the runnin's lost its hold on you
you can count the cars now as they pass threw

facin up now to all you've passed
sweepin up the dust and the broken glass
you can feel your souls are wearin thin
this time its all about the place your in
so put you hands down and let it begin

Can you hear me?
miles and miles up ahead,
theres a freight train comming...

i think this song is one of his best, Chill yes but at the same time it has a pretty good message. About someone having been told they can only achieve so much "dont' you think the lines been drawin for you". but that someone goes and proves that they can make it and they do, yet then it all become self destructive because they can't keep up the pace they were living at.

all this time the friend it trying to get him to slow up and pace themself, warning his friend of the certain fall out they'll have.
