How Strange

I've seen this song be interpreted as portraying humankind's disprespect for the supernatural, something I've always rather disagreed with. Emilie Autumn seems to be taking the metaphor of the supernatural and using it to describe the singer, whom a swain persists in trying to win the singer's affections, a pursuit that both amuses and vexes her . On the one hand, he claims to dream of her every night and to love her, yet he wants her to change in order to fit in more with what he thinks she is, or should be. The singer believes otherwise- she won't change for anyone, not even a lover. She doesn't need to please anybody but herself, and if that means she has no boyfriend, then so be it. Staying true to herself is more important than listening to what supposed loved ones say she should be.

i respect her quite a bit actaully, since i have the same vision as her. she wants to make sure that someone isnt going to jsut screw her over and shes not changing her selffor anyone so if you really like her you except her for her not anything else.

i think its good she has a strong will to not jsut jump on any guy that walks by her, like many people and artists now a days. she doesnt just get involved. the guy has to aactaully get close to her andn really care. not just ooh yeah your hot ill do you. which is around so much today that its good to finally have someone like her around to help correct that.

At first i hated this song because it sounded really mainstream and.. as other people have said "R&B" I like this song just because instead of using metaphors(Not like I dislike them. i happen to be fond of them..) she being blunt and saying "Until you learn to treat me like you should... you can 'see me in your dreams'" C:

This song means so much to me. It describes the situation I was in about a year ago almost exactly. Especially the part;

"You know I think it's strange Just a little bit deranged That you think I'm gonna change to make you happy"

I love the lyrics and the music so much.

as dustybreeze says this is her only song that really sounds R&B and to really understand the lyrics you have to think into them to get the real understanding, she seems to always put deeper meanings into her songs.
