From an interview...again ;-) Tegan:''I like that song . . . I don't even know what to say about it. I guess there was lots of time that for Sara and I, being sisters and being family and being in a band for five years, it can be exhausting and at times I felt like sort of an unknown. With Sara moving to Montreal and talking a lot about going back to school, it was tough. There were times when I was writing this record where I was pretty sure that was it. You know, like I was writing my own record and Sara was gonna be done and wasn't contributing and wasn't returning my calls or hadn't sent me new music. I thought, jeez, this is it, she's gonna quit and I'm gonna be all on my own. And there's something about that song; I guess I was trying to get that feeling like you sort of have to enjoy what you have and you have to put in a hundred percent and give everything you have or really there's nothing to give because if you're being a big whiny bag all the time then that's all you'll be.''
This is the prototypical song about frustrating relationships. The two have a connection, but they can't seem to ever work it out for the best. I think it's the most beautiful song on the album.
i agree, its probably the most beautiful song on this album. and thats saying something because this whole album is amazing. the lyrics, melodies, vocals, everything. its awesome
i don't excatly know what it means, but this song is so beautiful, so powerful, it brings me so much emotions when i listen to it.. i'm surprised there's not a lot of comments..
I like how the beginning starts with singing right away in a way that's catchy and draws you in.
this song is amazing. i personally was in a relationship that recently ended and it kind of sucked because it was kind of a forced ending to it. obviously i got over it. but this is definitely what i was feeling.

When someone close to you is hurt, you are left wondering what you can do to fix them up. And then you realize that the only thing you have for them is your love. That's it. At least, that's what this sing means to me.
this song is so beautiful. I'm not sure what else to say about it that wouldn't be about what I'm feeling right now, but this song explains it perfectly.
