Soldiers of the Wasteland Lyrics

Crossing battles savage seas towards the mountains high
Forest plains of wilderness we're striking out tonight
On towards our destiny we travel far and wide
Journey through the darkenss as your hearts refuse to die

In the flames of hell we fire at will the fires of doom has come
With the forces of the blackest knights they're staring at the sun
Far across the distant plains of ice we're searching for the sword
When the time has come for the battle now we follow with the horde

We will ride with fire burning hot towards the night sky
In the land of long ago forever in our souls
Fly on wings of shining steel are burning so bright
In ancient lands of warriors we're riding on again

Burning fires burning lives on the long distant roads
Through the lost mountains endless so far away from home
Warrior soldiers forever we fought long ago
We're all lost in the darkness so far away from home

Fallen soldiers taste the steel of death the daylight dawning
Sun will shine upon the lives of burning hearts of ice
As you break through the boundaries of life this feeling of despair
And they die in their sleep for the world that will not care
You feel lost in this labyrinth of pain this sickening dismay
There's a voice inside that's calling another wasted day

Can't you see the history the suffocating madness
In the land of fallen souls there's nowhere left no place to go
I have traveled far and wide across the wasteland
Still searching for the answers for the right to understand

Burning fires burning lives on the long distant roads...

Riding through the starlight and smashing the boundaries as hellfire
falls from the sky
A shadow of pain will arise from the ashes of those fallen ones who have died
Our only master with fire and fury of hell will see his bidding done
Blasting from high as the battle unfolds to the gates of the city we come

This song is by far my favorite dragonforce song....like holyfuck i love it. There is something about when he sings with no instraments......then it jsut breaks into a part of the song (in this case the beginning), i love it, such amazing parts of the songs.

To me this song is about Post-Tramatic stress disorder, I'm thinking this because of the line "Warrior soldiers forever we fought long ago/We're all lost in the darkness so far away from home." To me this makes the song them endlessly reliving their days from the war. "Can't you see the history the suffocating madness/In the land of fallen souls there's nowhere left no place to go/I have traveled far and wide across the wasteland/Still searching for the answers for the right to understand." These lines seem to be about being trapped in themselves and hoping they can free themselves from the war now over.

Sorry, typo'd :P I meant "To me this makes the song seem like they’re endlessly reliving their days from the war." Mah bad, anyways, rate up if you think ah dun gewd!

to me this song seems like an epic quest too fight a great evil coming too his land. he and his party must go to find "the Sword" which will maybe summon god?

"Crossing battles savage seas towards the mountains high Forest plains of wilderness we're striking out tonight On towards our destiny we travel far and wide Journey through the darkenss as your hearts refuse to die"

describes how the party travels through the sea and wilderness while fighting enemies and refusing too give up because they know if they fail the "Evil" will kill them all.

"In the flames of hell we fire at will the fires of doom has come With the forces of the blackest knights they're staring at the sun Far across the distant plains of ice we're searching for the sword When the time has come for the battle now we follow with the horde"

This part tells us that they are searching far and wide for the sword for the army. when they find the sword they will fight the army of darkness (Forces of the blackest Knights)

"Fallen soldiers taste the steel of death the daylight dawning Sun will shine upon the lives of burning hearts of ice As you break through the boundaries of life this feeling of despair And they die in their sleep for the world that will not care You feel lost in this labyrinth of pain this sickening dismay There's a voice inside that's calling another wasted day"

this may be describing the army fighting off the army of darkness with every last breath they have.

"Can't you see the history the suffocating madness In the land of fallen souls there's nowhere left no place to go I have traveled far and wide across the wasteland Still searching for the answers for the right to understand"

The party or main guy discovering where the sword is from historical clues?

"Riding through the starlight and smashing the boundaries as hellfire falls from the sky A shadow of pain will arise from the ashes of those fallen ones who have died Our only master with fire and fury of hell will see his bidding done Blasting from high as the battle unfolds to the gates of the city we come"

Them finding the sword and using its power too defeat the enemy. even though alot have died fending off the evil long enough for the party too retrieve the sword.

anyways thats my input. i do believe its something along those lines.

My Interpretation

Song reminds me of Golden Axe, more so than other Dragonforce songs

Good lord, what a song!

When the line "When the time has come for the battle now we follow with the horde" (must be the horde part) instantly brings to mind Warcraft. Though that tends to happen a lot with songs by bands no unlike Dragonforce too.... :)

The word "horde" means a big group of people. It is not referencing WoW in any way bro. By "horde", he means a large army of warriors.

"When the time has come for the battle now we follow with the horde"

i have a silght suspiscion that these guys might play World of Warcraft.....

This has nothing to do with silly computer games, the word horde is a normal English word.

That is true. But if you look at what their main musical influence is, you will notice that it's "80s video game music". Anything is possible. They could very much be talking about WoW.
