Luno Lyrics

And you're tired of your Mum
And you're tired of your Dad
Got you jumping through hoops
Got you shaving your legs
Let it pass, let it pass, let it pass over you

And you're tired of your face
And you're tired of your nose
Got you jumping through hoops
Got you shaving your legs
Let it pass, let it pass, let it pass over you

And your nose is bleeding
You've been lying to me

There will be no hesitation
There will be no confrontation
There will be no indication
There will be no cause
There will be no exultation
There will be no justification
There will be no way at all

And your nose is bleeding
You've been lying to me

Luno
Come back to me the the way you were
The way you were when we were young
I'm trying to tell you everything
I'm trying to tell you everything

I can heal the blind
I can cure the sick
I can say the right things
I can say the right things
Where d'you get so cruel
Where do you go
Cos you're never here

And your nose is bleeding
You deserve it
You've been lying to me

I'm not sure it's specifically about Violence at home, although I agree it is a feature of the song. I think it's a bit about a Teenage rebellion

"And you're tired of your Mum And you're tired of your Dad Got you jumping through hoops Got you shaving your legs Let it pass, let it pass, let it pass over you"

Pretty obvious, just sick and tired of his/her parents, (probably a girl given Luno is perhaps her name and she's shaving her legs)

"And you're tired of your face And you're tired of your nose"

Standard teenage anxieties of hating the way you look, or perhaps deeper than that, her face or nose remind her of her parents.

"And your nose is bleeding You've been lying to me"

Suggests two things to me: 1. That she's gone out to show or a bar or something and got in a fight and when she comes in her parents confront her about where she's been, she tells them a lie and they point out that her nose is bleeding OR 2. In interegating her they get to vigourous and (the dad presumably) hits her.

"There will be no hesitation There will be no confrontation There will be no indication There will be no cause There will be no exultation There will be no justification There will be no way at all"

Perhaps more about the girl, she just does what she wants, she won't even argue with her parents about letting her do it, she just does it.

"Luno Come back to me the the way you were The way you were when we were young I'm trying to tell you everything"

Luno doesn't think her parents understand her and they're saying the standard 'What happened to you?' 'You used to be so different when you were young' 'We're trying to help you, why won't you tell us what's wrong'

"I can heal the blind I can cure the sick I can say the right things I can say the right things Where d'you get so cruel Where do you go Cos you're never here" Perhaps again, anxiety of the parents, They want to help her, but she won't tell them what the problem and "Heal the Blind" and "Cure the sick" is a deliberate Hyperbole of how her parents will do anything to help her, but to Luno, they might as well be saying they can heal the blind, as she doesn't think they can help

And your nose is bleeding You deserve it You've been lying to me

The most clear indication that one of them has hit her in anger, What d'ya reckon? Also, check out the Death from Above 1979 cover of this song, it's great http://www.myspace.com/deathfromabove1979

hmm i reckon its about a close female friend.. falling into the pressures of growing up ..like its cool to hate ya parents and cool to shave ya legs... cool to ditch your mates for new idiot ones. she doesnt wanna be a loser.. but shes turning into a real asshole and losing sight of whats real in her life.. just to try and make herself feel good

nose is bleeding i think is like a metaphor for being a total mess ... like shes failing and completely losing it. shes not thinking about what shes doing and just jerking everyone around who wants to help her. shes lied to everyone who cares but they are hoping its just a faze that will pass over. he reckons he can help but she is to cool to listen..

dunno ey...

I think "Luno" is about a girl he loves that is rebelling against authority. The girl does what she wants and doesn't care what anyone tells her to do or listens to what they have to say. He wants her to come back to him like she used to be before her rebellion. When he says: "And your nose is bleeding You deserve it You've beeen lying to me" This could mean two things: 1.) He beat her because she lies to him 2.) Or, she is doing cocaine and this is the price she pays for what she does and he's glad she's suffering for it.

im like completely ignoring the rest of the song, but the 'and your nose is bleeding, you've been lying to me bit' reminds me of the film valentine. everytime the dude kills someone, his nose bleeds, and then at the end, this guy tells his girlfriend that some woman who fell down the stairs was the killer, then hugs her and his nose bleeds. he has been lying to her.

and will probably stab her.

the end

I agree it has something to do with drugs. I personally have little knowledge of drugs, but doesn't your nose bleed if you do enough cocaine?

'And you're tired of your Mum And you're tired of your Dad Got you jumping through hoops Got you shaving your legs Let it pass, let it pass, let it pass over you.'

I think the first two verses are talking about a girl who feels pressured to be perfect in life- perfect grades, perfect looks, and she has to jump through hoops to earn their affection.

'And your nose is bleeding You've been lying to me.'

I think the singer is a friend who confrtoned her about doing drugs, but she lied and said no. Then, when her nose starts bleeding, he knows the truth.

'There will be no hesitation There will be no confrontation There will be no indication There will be no cause There will be no exultation There will be no justification There will be no way at all.'

I think this is the singer saying that he's got to let her be- he won't confront her, or interrogate her. He just has to let her do whatever self destructive BS she wants.

I have no idea on the lyrics, but I just felt compelled to say that this song rocks! Definitely one of the best on Silent Alarm.

I agree this song is amazing, as is the rest of the album. i haven't actually bought the album, as i have no money. but my mate's lent me it, for the past week, and i don't want to give it him back. One of the best albums i've heard for ages.

i think this song has hints of domestic violence in but not sure if thats what its meant to be. "And your nose is bleeding You've been lying to me" self explanatary really, she (i assume its a she) didnt ttell him somethign and he hit her. "There will be no hesitation There will be no confrontation There will be no indication There will be no cause There will be no exultation There will be no justification There will be no way at all" lays down the mentality of the relationship.he will do what he wants, hit her for no reason with no warning.

"I can heal the blind I can cure the sick I can say the right things I can say the right things Where d'you get so cruel Where do you go Cos you're never here" this show how malipuative the abuser can be, making out that he is good and nice and can be really nice and good. at the same time making it out as if its her fualt for him hittin her, shes in teh wrong.

i was thinking potentially drug abuse? cocaine, ie. nose bleeding? could be very wrong though. domestic abuse is plausible too.

Yeah I sort of also saw the cocaine angle
