I never gave a reason
Of why I didn't call
Now I've grown so tired
Of lying to myself
It cannot go unsaid
I regret what they know
Don't think it's all been a waste of time

Are you better off alone? Stop lying to yourself
I regret what was said I deny what they know
Are you better off alone?

Those that we admired
All stood their ground and cried
I didn't start the fire
I just tried to see your eyes
It cannot go unsaid
I only want you to know
I think it's all going to
Work out fine

Are we Better Off Alone (you better off alone?)
Than lying to ourselves
Who cares what they've said?
Who cares what they know?
Are we better off alone

I know that my love I'll send
Could we still be friends?
But this is the end

I think it's all going to work out fine
We're better off alone (You better off alone)
Than lying to ourselves
I regret what you say
I don't care what I know
Don't say it's all been a waste of time
Are you better off alone (send my love)
Stop lying to yourself (send my love)
It cannot go unsaid (send my love)
I only want you to know (to yooou)
It cannot go unsaid,
I only want you to know,
I think it's all going to work out fine.

am not a huge fan of grinspoon but i love this song.. the point of realisation that you're in a relationship that isn't going to work, isnt a nice one.. and this song is reassuring...

I think it's a little deeper than that. Rather than being one relationship, it seems to me to be the point in your life, that some unfortunate people like me get to, where you start to question whether love is worth it, because all it's brought so far is pain. But at the same time, it's optimistic that everything will work out in the end. That's what it means to me anyways

    love the song.

i think its about him trying to break up with someone coz its not working but he didnt actualy tell her, instead he told someother ppl, when he was drunk or something.

theres rumers going everywhere, the girl dosent kno whats going on coz he hasnt actualy called her this is just him trying to straighted everything out to the girl.

the video clip is realy good

sounds like whats goen on in my life at the moment.. he thinks their relationship just isnt working, and that if she looked around shed realise it too.. and everyone else probably thinks their perfect for each other.. but before telling her he was gonna break up with her he probably told someone else... n she probably found out because of some1 telling her instead of him... n yeh he obviously still loves her, as friends.

too me ... this song is saying that the guy or girl in question feels as though they have screwed up so much and they dont think it could be fixed.. so theyre saying are we better off alone. i tink its more of a forgivness song like "are we better of alone?" its a question and its says your better off alone.. hes trying to save the other from being hurt

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

When We Were Young
Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
