a 2 time ex-bf made me listen to this song, and for me, especially coming from him whether he realized it or not, it means that the girl is hurting and doesnt think much of herself, but if he would just help her to realize who she is, and all that she's worth, then she would help him learn/know how to love, and love inspite of their differences.

i think this guy really loves her, and maybe she doesn't know it, or maybe what they had didn't work out. but now this guy saw another guy break her heart and in the song he's telling him he cant just break her to pieces and then run away and once he comes back he has to mend her back to the way she was. moral of the song... dont turn your back on the ones you loved, or used to love!
