Four Kicks Lyrics
Huff men don't take no nonsense
hes here to rectify
hes got his black belt buckle
and the red mans fire in his eyes
You with your switchblade posse
I'll get my guns from the south
we'll take to the yard like a cock fight
4 kicks, who's struttin now?
this partys overrated
but there ain't shit else to do
she's a lovin on the boy from the city
I'll be lovin him under my shoe..
hes here to rectify
hes got his black belt buckle
and the red mans fire in his eyes
I'll get my guns from the south
we'll take to the yard like a cock fight
4 kicks, who's struttin now?
but there ain't shit else to do
she's a lovin on the boy from the city
I'll be lovin him under my shoe..

This party's overrated But there ain't shit else to do She's a'lovin' on a boy from the city I'll be lovin' him under my shoe...
At least, I think... It's more correct than that anyhoo...
the lyrics are wrong! actually they're: Huff man don't take no nonsense, He's here to rectify, He's got his black belt buckle, And the red man's fire in his eyes.
You with your switchblade posse I'll get my guns from south We'll take to the yard like a cockfight Four kicks, who's struttin' now.

cant be wrong, they're on their cd
Ummmm i read in an interview, or maybe more than one interview, which i believe were from american magazines, that this song is taken from the band hearing stories about the fights their dad and his friends used to pick when they were younger. this was of course before his dad became a preacher or decided he wanted to become one.
I believe that Caleb said that Huffman, who was one of his dad's friends, decided to pick a fight so that event is what the song is about. the four kicks refers to the pack of four friends that caleb's dad and huffman were included in. I think this all makes sense when you look at the lyrics, which, taken from the album jacket are:
"Huffman don't take no nonsense he's here to rectify he's got his black belt buckle and the red mans fire in his eye
You with your switchblade posse I'll get my guns from the SOUTH We'll take to the yard like a cockfight four kicks who's struttin now"....
there's another verse but I don't feel like writing it.
I highly doubt there is any political message in the song....i'm pretty sure it's just a song based on a story from the past. it has nothing to do with abbie hoffman or whatever.
I was watching a video on the OBTN trailer things and they where saying that the lyric is "Hoffman don't take no nonsense" which is after on of their friends that they are refering too in the song.
here is what i understood the words to be...what a great song...
Hot men don't take no nonsense hes here to rectify hes got his black belt buckle and the red mans fire in his eyes
You with your switchblade posse I'll get my guns from the south we'll take to the yard like a cock fight 4 kicks, who's struttin now?

the album sleeve gives legitimate lyrics, surprisingly.
my guess is it's something else KOL experienced amidst their days of touring and writing between 'youth and young manhood' and 'aha shake heartbrake'. perhaps some kind of bitter resentment through rejection. there seems to be alot of hostility in this song. either that or it's not to be taken at face value.
yeah Gela...i think you're lyrics are more accurate..i changed it.
ha, this song is on the radio right now...i like the opening line, it's pretty funny the way he does it
i got the opening line wrong, its huff men dont take no nonsense, they were on jonathan ross singing this last night and it was amazing
what is a huff man?
