Gravedancer Lyrics
In this two bedroom tomb I'm sitting all alone, with the television static and refrigerator drone. I'm waiting for those blessed arms that seem to wrap around me six or seven times, praying for me to come home. I could cut myself to pass the time. Haven't felt anything in days. A six year old girl dances on my ceiling. She might as well be dancing on my grave.

He is wasting away in his room. You know when you sit around all day and feel like you've accomplished nothing. He's alone, nobdoy wants to be bothered with him. Nobody calls, he sits by the phone waiting. It all builds up to the point where he does'nt feel anymore and could cut himself to pass the time. He just does'nt care. He heres the little girl in the upstairs apartment enjoying herself on what might as well be his grave.
I've been in this songs situation one too many times
thanks for the explanation hrehocikj, especially the part about the little girl, that one part didnt make much sense to me before. now if i could figure out what he meant about "those blessed arms"
No problem dude. Umm..maybe the blessed arms are his girlfriend's or even his mother's when he was little or something. Maybe he was neglected. I'm not sure. Cheers.
The meaning of this song is pretty obvious I know that feeling very well, just because your heart's still beating doesn't mean you aren't already dead .. by the way what's up with that conversation at the end of the song? can't figure out what they say
You are all mistaken. He is not complaining about a terrible life, etc. etc. I shall give a (very) simple explanation, which is that the one they refer to is awaiting death inside of their room, but it seems to take forever. The "blessed arms" are most likely that of a deity's. You are most likely correct about the dancing girl, tough.
THIS IS IN A TONY HAWK GAME, LOLLLLL
good song though, not the best..
the conversation at the end of the song is also on the Natasha DVD, it's around 30 minutes long though.
i love the convo at the end, especially that creepy laugh from that hot-sounding chick, i got the Natasha dvd.
it about him losing, most likely, a girlfriend. the felling i get from the sample at the end is he is illustrating that a fight pushed her a way and now he has nothing more to than wither in die in his apartment, his grave. On an unrelated note "He heres the little girl in the upstairs apartment enjoying herself on what might as well be his grave" is one of the best lines i have seen in lyric poetry or any other lyric form.
