Best In Mexico Lyrics

There is something wrong with me
That's why I wrote this note
I've joined the writers who believe they have the antidote
So I will go quickly now and leave breadcrumbs on the street
I'll feel much better after I take my maternal leave

Let out a sign, pretend to die
You're going to need an alibi
A broken arm, the same smell
So just relax, no one will tell

That brings you down
You have got to keep brining me down
It stings me all over again
It's the same dream in the back of my head

I've been collecting stones that I think I'll throw at you
I can't forget your face
I'm sorry dear but that's my cue
I'll be the first to leave
And return with a ring
Just keep your ears open and one day you might hear me sing

Let out a sign, pretend to die
You're going to need an alibi
A broken arm, the same smell
So just relax, no one will tell

That brings you down
You have got to keep bringing me down
It stings me all over again, it's the same dream in the back of my head

Lock me up, lock me up, lock me up, lock me up, LOCK ME UP!
No one will know

Lock me up, lock me up, lock me up, lock me up, LOCK ME UP. Rawr. I love it. Schuylars voice is flawless.

I noticed this song is without any kind of interpetation whatsoever so allow me to place my 2 cents.

There is something wrong with me That's why I wrote this note I've joined the writers who believe they have the antidote

(This song I beleive is about a rock star and a crazed fan. In the start of the rock star's career, he joined the ranks of bands who beleived that they were going to save music during an extesential funk of music in the industry. He beleives his music will change the world)

So I will go quickly now and leave breadcrumbs on the street I'll feel much better after I take my maternal leave

(But in the present, the rock star, is ready to end his career. He didn't exactly change the world but he collected a fanbase, and inspired them enough by leaving music influences - breadcrumbs - for them to follow and complete what he could not. For now he wants to take his maternal leave and settle down in a nice place and retire. Lets just assume this place is Hollywood.)

Let out a sign, pretend to die You're going to need an alibi A broken arm, the same smell So just relax, no one will tell

(A crazed fan, who is upset that he will no longer be around to rock his world, travels to Hollywood and Beverly Hills, where he joins many other people who stalk the homes in the same fashion as a Zoo. He crticizes the rock star and cannot see that the rock star left with enough musical heirlooms that there is no need for him anymore. So the now ex-fan says that the rock star can go ahead and die out in Hollywood - because nobody is going to tell anyways that he is gone or not)

That brings you down You have got to keep bringing me down It stings me all over again It's the same dream in the back of my head

(The ex-fan continues that the rock stars decision for retirement is bringing him down. The fan says that the rock and roll dream in his head is to make fans happy and not to burn out when he is needed most)

I've been collecting stones that I think I'll throw at you I can't forget your face

(I guess the fan threated to turn violent on the rock star after he presumably declines the fan's request to reconsider his retirement)

I'm sorry dear but that's my cue I'll be the first to leave And return with a ring

(The rock star says that he has to go because he has plans with his fiance. A common trend I'm seeing nowadays are bands taking breaks for marriages and families)

Just keep your ears open and one day you might hear me sing

(The obsessed fan accepts the rock stars mistake - consoling himself with the fact that one day he will become a rock star and not make all the stupid mistakes his formor idol did. One day, the rock star will be the obsessed fan, and the roles will reverse)

Lock me up, lock me up, lock me up, lock me up, LOCK ME UP! No one will know

(Blast you, He Is Legend! The obligatory confusing line!.. well, taking a stab in the dark, my best guess is that the rock star called the cops and the fan hystarically begs to be locked up. As he is being taken away, the rock star shakes his head and the He Is Legend Punch Line: The rock star has the last laugh and says 'And nobody will know I've gone away? You're the crazy nobody who is getting thrown in jail - Let's see who gets remembered now')

I think that was an excellent explanation, but I think the artist it leaving Hollywood, and going to Mexico. I only thought this cause the song is called best in mexico.

i dunno, but i kinda think that ^it's about the rockstar trying to disguise himself to keep from having his privacy invaded as all celebrities seem to do.

personally, i had a different outlook on this song, i thought alot of it was metaphorical

There is something wrong with me That's why I wrote this note I've joined the writers who believe they have the antidote

to me could be interpreted as, there's something on the singer's mind, thus why he wrote a song, and people that seem to write... journals/diarys/books and whatever else always see it as an antidote, a way to relax or confess their secrets

So I will go quickly now and leave breadcrumbs on the street I'll feel much better after I take my maternal leave

this instantly makes me think, the singer of this has to leave... possibly to go on tour, or to attend something important to him/her, breadcrumbs could mean something as simple as not alot, he's gone and not left alot behind such as feelings, his maternal leave could like i said previously be tour, etc

I've been collecting stones that I think I'll throw at you I can't forget your face I'm sorry dear but that's my cue

collecting stones could be a metaphore for information on a person (things to use against them, things to "throw in their face") possibly hurtful things, things you wouldn't want used against you... then it seems to say that he'll never forget this person, but it's his cue to leave, he doesn't have a choice.

obviously i can't interperate the entire song, but that's just a small example of what i think it might mean, take it or leave it haha
