this is a beautiful song that has a rather poignant chorus.. when i first heard it i was slightly bemused by the verses (sun moon stars etc) but the moment Dave breaks out into "and how could such a thing shine its light on me..." i immediately thought of the Cross and of its apparent ugliness, within which is contained the profound ability to transform and unify humanity to God, through the power of what Jesus did.
that was a revelation moment for me.
This song means so much to me.. It's my favorite song in the universe. This summer at camp, one of my fellow staff-members played it for me around a campfire and I just looked up at the Stars and thought.. it'll be alright. it'll be alright.
This song helps me remember why I haven't died of worry. It has such imagery that it's like watching a movie when I listen to this. When I listen to it I can't help, but smile cuz I can feel God's light shining on me and making me beautiful. Light helps plants grow and God is my light source:D
