This song is pretty much Circa's first song ever written.I think it explains how Anthony plans to be different from Saosin. When I read the May 2007 AP magazine, it sounded like Anthony thought the Saosin boys were kinda fake and interested in money more than the fans. For one ,anyone who knows Circa knows they are VERY fan oriented. "Handshakes at sunrise" sounds to me like ...Its a new day, they are using a new days sunrise as a metaphor for themselves."take time for passersby to meet with you" sounds like advice for Saosin to actually take the time to meet thier fans. "We wont stop until the dawn has given its all to you. A warm appraisal hides behind an audience member" sounds like We are different, and we are going to give you as much as we can ,and the "audience" is a good thing,embrace it,dont fear or reject it.Maybe "who are replacing us" literally means that,Anthony and Colin quit thier old bands (the only two who were there at the time it was written).Who will replace them?

I think.. maybe.. this song is about something along the lines of he wanted to do something with his life, something with an impact.. but hes afraid he won't succed, and he wonders who will try to take his place. Just a guess.

Yeah it's both about wanting to do something with your life and saosin. I think it's about how Anthony Green came to philadelphia when taking a break from touring with saosin in the west. In Philly he met with Colin and they started to make plans about starting a band, but then anthony had to get back to the west coast. So he leaves and then the next day or something colin gets a call from anthony to come pick him up at the airport in philly at 6 am (hence sunrise) and that was the decision to basically quit saosin and start circa survive (hence handshakes- with colin).
