Emerald Lyrics
Confess what you crave
a life without pain
you'd kill for the taste
But the hurt still remains
Still they don't know who you are
Just be still my emerald
I'll be waiting for you
Do exactly what your told
I'll be waiting for you
Ashamed by the threats
you pierce the embrace
afraid and alone
In a dark lonely place
did you alway want to be
did they try to steal your soul
did they hurt you with deceit
can't you come in from the cold
bestill my emerald
I'll be waiting for you
a life without pain
you'd kill for the taste
But the hurt still remains
I'll be waiting for you
Do exactly what your told
I'll be waiting for you
you pierce the embrace
afraid and alone
In a dark lonely place
did they try to steal your soul
did they hurt you with deceit
can't you come in from the cold
bestill my emerald
I'll be waiting for you

Very haunting song... I'm curious about "emerald," though. Does it refer to a precious gem, or a real name?
I adore this song.
It could be about a person with green eyes.
It could be about a person with green eyes.
I think this song has something in common with the song Release on the same album. It talks about a difficult relationship, but this time he want her to stay with him. The women is "attack" by something or someone, she has problems, maybe an illness or something, but he stills wants to wait for her. Hard to explain...
Someone has an idea ?
I agree with the green eyes, or maybe he just wants to refer to emerald as a precious thing.
I think "emerald" is an endearment, either due to eye color or indicating the person is precious (I lean toward the latter). I also believe this is a song about telling a love interest that he will wait for her to be able to leave a bad situation/state of mind she is in (several types come to mind). He is advising her to do what she can to cope until she is able to leave. He is giving her strength with the knowledge that he understands and will be there for her when she is ready.
