This is just a simple love song, and it brings tears to my eyes. This is true, pure love that he's singing about.
They played this song live a month ago when they were here in Thunder Bay. I couldn't believe it. I never thought I'd ever hear it live. I tell you, these men are incredible musicians. They played it almost identically to how they recorded it. Not sure who inspired him to write this but yes, it does sounds like true love. It's haunting and so beautiful.

i was first introduced to this song by someone really special to me. 8 years later it has not lost any of its meaning. As JewellyBug said, its a love song. Its about loving someone with all of your being. For myself personally, even though we have grown up and live very different lives, i want him to know " i will always be here. Always be with you". For as long as i live (being "in this time") i will always love him.
I love this song as well. It is indeed beautiful. I learnt to play it and love it's sound. It reminds me of a friend long ago.
To me it sounds a bit like they'll always be together "in this time" that they were and even though their love is over it will always exist in the time that it did. The guy hasn't gotten over it and keeps falling back in waves in love with her and what they had and has given up trying to deny that he'll always be there if she needs.
