Rollin' Back Lyrics
just in the nick of time you got me... while I was sittin here
time I don't think I waste it, it just seems to disappear
sippin the wine you got me, while eyes were rollin back
long hours and hard hard things just bring heart attacks
oh oh oh you had me, wrapped up in your mystery...
when the light vanished from on high
oh I'll never say I knew you, but my heart can't wait
to meet you on the other side
when I think about the story. one thing seems pretty clear
the warm things you left behind they still want you here
but only in time you find... that all things come back around
and just like the frown, we'll turn them upside down
oh oh oh you had me. wrapped up in your mystery...
when the light vanished from on high
oh i'll never say I knew you
but my heart cant wait
to meet you no the other side.
time I don't think I waste it, it just seems to disappear
sippin the wine you got me, while eyes were rollin back
long hours and hard hard things just bring heart attacks
oh oh oh you had me, wrapped up in your mystery...

but my heart cant wait
to meet you no the other side.

I love this song too, surprised there's not more comments. I think it's more of a person that they never got really close to, but they always felt a connection with/were intrigued by them.
"my heart can't wait to meet you on the other side" -- so beautiful. almost like he's accepting that they will never be together here, but there's still a love. or something like that. really sad and lovely, maybe it's about someone who died? my opinion anyways.
I think this song is about a relationship that never reached it's full potential, and now that things have ended depression ensues. Even though he's given up he can't help but hold out hope that eventually things will turn out as he hopes.
I can SO relate to this song, in fact, when I was composing that last sentence I typed "Even though he's given up I can't help but hold out hope..." Haha, I'm pathetic, and life sucks sometimes...
Hey, don't sweat it, why does anyone come here to post about these songs? I was listening and thinking the same thing that you thought about this song. Perhaps there is a stretch of time where he (I) will have to be apart from this person, and things didn't work out in the past, but still in his (my) heart he (I) wants it to turn out as he (I) hopes in the end.

I think I am about in the same place as you right now. We're not pathetic. It's love, and losing love is terribly difficult.

Anyway it...
Anyway it was interesting because I was checking this song out on YouTube and someone had made a comment about the similarities between the harmonies in this song and the harmonies in Simon & Garfunkel's "The Only Living Boy in New York." I coincidentally was listening to Simon and Garfunkel today also, but it was just too heartbreaking and I couldn't even make it through the album.
Okay, maybe I am pathetic. I can't help it.
This song is a personal favorite from this band. As for the lyrics they are most likley about a person from a past relationship.
