I think this song is awesome. It reminds us that God really is working something out for us. We don't need to worry ourselves with trying to please other guys. And the "Sleep is the only thing for me" and "I'm waiting for a wedding ring" is just saying that just because it seems like everyone else is having sex outside of marriage (which would be the "average girl", doesn't mean that we should. We "don't meet the standards of this world" because our hearts are for God, not for the world. Pretty self explanatory song, really, but I love it.

I wonder how many of us actually follow this song (myself included), I mean, it looks great in print, trying to be Godly and follow what he want for you by waiting, BUT, 80% of teenagers that promise to wait for marriage, lose their virginity before that. If you think of ten of your friends... It's just sad that even though we say this and listen to this song, 80% of us won't be true to our word.
God can help us wait for the wedding ring, we just need to rely on him.
I totally love this song! This should be every girl's guide to life. It really has a message that God is really preparing someone for you, and even you for someone, but all you have to do is wait. He'll come through in the end for you, you just have to trust Him. This sets a really good example for not only girls, but guys to keep themselves pure until they are married. When I first heard this song I was really having a hard time with the whole issue of dating and what not, but this really helped me to see things clearly.
I love this song!!! The reason being is because it helps me to be more patient for the person gods making for me!
this song really means that we should stay pure until marridge, i thing that every girl should live by this song, it's just sad that no one hears it. this is my faveorite song, and the lyrics are amazing! "no more dating, i'm just waiting" i'll wait until i'm serious about finding a match for me. "god is writing my love story" he knows what's going to happen, so don't worry! (i also try to pray for my future husband every day!!!!)
you guys said it all, pretty much. but just a point of something i get out of this part, "If you get tired waiting till he comes God's arms are the perfect place to run" i love that part, a lot of girls, inlcuding me, have tried/try to find satisfaction and love in everything but God, and they are hurt, let down, and beat down. God will never fail you, or leave you. Your relationship with him will last forever!

A main reason, though, that God wants us to abstain until marriage is that we are sensitive, and being dumped after giving our innocence away can be very emotionally damaging. We are God's children and he wants us to avoid such hurt. A good Christian guy will find it attractive when a girl makes it easy for them to focus on being a good Christian. The Bible tells us to treat men like brothers. Essentially, doing this makes the right guy stick out like a sore thumb. He will pursue you and make it painfully obvious that he loves you, so that there's no doubt in your mind. This distinction is much harder to make when you treat every guy like a potential boyfriend.

Not everyone will follow the Barlow sisters example and not date at all until they find the right guy that they're gonna marry, but it is extremely important to remain sexually pure. It's also extremely important to only date guys that have the same beliefs as you, because that will make it a lot easier to stay pure, and because God says so: Don't be unequally yoked. Anyway, I love this song! It was so awesome to see how passionate Alyssa is about this song in concert! :)
