For you there'll be no crying
For you the sun will be shining
'Cause I feel that when I'm with you
It's all right I know it's right

And the songbirds keep singing like they
Know the score
And I love you I love you I love you
Like never before

To you I would give the world
To you I'd never be cold
'Cause I feel that when I'm with you
It's all right I know it's right

And the songbirds keep singing like they
Know the score
And I love you I love you I love you
Like never before like never before

Like never before
Like never before

i cannot believe this song has so little comments, it's definitely one of the most beautiful songs ever written.

The most romantic song I think i've ever heard. Eva outdoes it's predecessor and writer C. McVeigh with this version (although the original is still wonderful in it's own right). The lyrics simply speak for themselves in this wonderful song about love and commitment.

The love is ever apparent in these two people that even the 'songbirds' have to sing and share in their joy.

I LOVE IT I LOVE IT!!!!

The first time I heard this song I loved it. Eva Cassidy has an amazing ability to convey so much emotion with her musicianship.
The world is a darker place without her shining light in it...

I first heard this song in Love Actually, and it really moved me. I love the Eva Cassidy version, and until I read these comments I had no idea that it wasn't the original.. I'm now listening to the original, and I don't think theres anything in it really - each of the singers convey the lyrics so well. Such a lovely song!

this version isn't nearly as good as the original. how could you ditch that Beautiful piano, and replace it with a guitar? I don't understand. and they vocals have too much fx, unlike the original. this version just doesn't do it for me. thumbs down

I am a relatively new Eva Cassidy fan...I love her voice and I love her ability to take a well known song and totally make it her own...her voice is brilliant....her video clips from Blues Alley were awesome...a couple of the songs with just her and her guitar...talk about feeling the music...Songbird, Over the Rainbow, Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Oh Had I A Golden Thread, Time After Time, etc... There is a couple I didn't like but she was God given(and taken)

Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
