Naenia Lyrics
Ignite the funeral pyre,
And let's close the casket lid on everything.
On this institution and on every memory burn it all in effigy.
Let's watch it burn.
Fell into the depths of a broken heart again,
And I'll die alone, but I get lost in your eyes,
And I can't help but feel like I'll never find love there again.
Dressed in white you mourned nothing,
As you led the precession with a smile.
There was no eulogy given,
For no kind words could be conjured up this time.
No not a single word of praise had escaped from your lips.
On that day, there was no more need
To conjure up things that made things seem ok.
As you walk on, ash falls like snow.
Can you express regret? Or just let a smile show.
Please just walk on.
Don't respond, I already know.
And let's close the casket lid on everything.
On this institution and on every memory burn it all in effigy.
Let's watch it burn.
And I'll die alone, but I get lost in your eyes,
And I can't help but feel like I'll never find love there again.
As you led the precession with a smile.
There was no eulogy given,
For no kind words could be conjured up this time.
No not a single word of praise had escaped from your lips.
On that day, there was no more need
To conjure up things that made things seem ok.
Can you express regret? Or just let a smile show.
Please just walk on.

such an amazing song.
Love it, definitely one of the best on The Caitiff Choir.
i think this song is about getting married to someone u dont actually love with all your heart "as you walk on ash falls like snow" like walking down the isle. maybe i dont know
I think the lyrics to this song are to put an end to a relationship ["let's close the casket lid on everything"], still longing for their love ["but I get lost in your eyes,"] but her lack of care, regret ["for no kind words could be conjured up this time"], or "mourning" for the loss of him for the loss makes him quite enraged.
about a marrage? are you crazy.... the song is clearly about the death of a relation hence all the references to funerals.. a pyre an ancient ritual where the body is cremated ontop of a wooden structure much like in the film troy. and an effigy is a statue of the deceased built on the lid of the coffin. the ash fallign like snow is from the fire bruning the relationship up. the metaphors in this song are beautiful and flawless. although the relationship has died he still cares for her truly and believes he will never find the same kind of love again.
god bless you it dies today :]
