Lights Out Lyrics
You go and I'll stay. Why would I put clothes on to see some guy you like more than me? But you should go and I'll be ok. I promised myself I'd finally start that book I've been meaning to read about the French Revolution.
You go and I'll stay. Why would I leave the house to go see some guy who sings better than me? And you come home to me smelling like booze, humming his tunes. I'm rolling over and it's lights out for this lightweight.

i wonder if he is talking about time ^_o
tim even
highly doubt it's about tim
do you think tim is a lightweight? have you seen him in person?
sounds to me like mike feeling insecure about his surroundings.
um that would mean mike is a lightweight not tim. and he is talking about lightweight in the amount of alcohol he can take.
well from my understanding of Mike, he really loves Tim but also, (also!) seems to have a great deal of resentment for being his brother- some jealousy, a constant feeling of wanting to be his own man. he's tired of living in his brother's shadow. it comes out clearly in everything I've read by him and in interviews. I don't know if this song specifically is about Tim but it certainly could be.
I think everyone is WAY off on this one. He has a girlfriend, she likes a guy from another band who kinsella is comparing himself to. When his girl comes home she's in that drunk daze that some people get in after a show. Im sure he feels inadequate and pissed that his girl is totally digging another guy's music and quite possibly digging the other guy in general.
that seems to be exactly it. The only problem with songmeanings, is the over analyzation.
Some of you people are slower than a homophobe with no legs running away from a gay rapist.
I concur.
