Slipping Away Lyrics

I'm slipping away
In every way
I can't stay awake
(and I don't know why)
I'm slipping away
(and I don't know why)

I'm trying to make it through each day
I'm falling apart now in every way
I'm finding it harder to get by
There's a hole in my heart
And I don't know why
Now I've come to realize

I'm slipping away

I just thought it was about being depressed and not knowing why, cause i can relate to it that way.

Not used to hearing this kinda song from Sum 41, that I can remember. I like it, though. I think they're talking about their individuality, being lost and not knowing why, or having any control over it.

^ I agree, its weird coming from them, but I agree that its about well, someone slipping away

I like the string part, is that a cello or what?

I believe this song speaks to the feeling of disillusion that is pretty common in rock stars. They were regular people but now have become celebrities that are so different from everything they knew and, as a result, feel out of touch. Sum 41 is a classic example of a band that has been exploited by fame. You can see the toll it has taken over the years on the members in songs like this and they're almost depressed demeaner they have now in interviews and public appearances.
