The Bitter End Lyrics
there's no doubt in my mind when it's over
what is done will be
you will find when life gets colder
there's no sympathy
there's no point trying
you can't escape the bitter end
well who will greet you
when you're at the bitter end
all your choices chosen you've got no say
your decisions made
face your consequences
as your life begins to fade
as time keeps spinning
closer to the bitter end
well who will greet you
when you're at the bitter end
take a look at yourself as time keeps racing
is all you've come to be
what you expected
or are you still chasing possibilities
cause all your prayers
won't save you from the bitter end
well who will greet you
when you're at the bitter end
the bitter end
what is done will be
you will find when life gets colder
there's no sympathy
there's no point trying
you can't escape the bitter end
well who will greet you
when you're at the bitter end
your decisions made
face your consequences
as your life begins to fade
as time keeps spinning
closer to the bitter end
well who will greet you
when you're at the bitter end
is all you've come to be
what you expected
or are you still chasing possibilities
cause all your prayers
won't save you from the bitter end
well who will greet you
when you're at the bitter end

One word:
Metallica.
And it sounds great. They have really out done themselves on this cd.
YESSSS IT SOUNDS LIKE METALLICA BUT ITS UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like they made it sound like Metallica in a wicked way, and the solo is unbelievable!, i also love how at the first solo it goes right back into singing
This is a complete rip off of Battery by Metallica... holy hell.
Yeah this song was much better when Metallica did it
Aside from the rip-off, it's about how we'll all be punished at "the bitter end" because of whatever reasons.
Also, I swear that second solo is done by a machine... just listen to it. And I've never heard or seen them play this song live. Probably because Dave can't really play it.

actually, UK magazine Total Guitar released a dvd called "Meltdown" which featured Sum 41. In the video Dave plugged right in showed how the solo was played.
Great Stuff.
It's not made by a machine. I have a couple videos of them playing it live, including the solo.
they tried to sound like metallica from 1983 to 1986...the good years...it was almost amazing...I loved this song...seems like a song pain for pleasure would have...lol
A few of their songs on this album remind me of other songs, but this song is Battery without a doubt. I'm not saying someone should sue them, but come on.
