wait
how long would you wait
just for me to call
I know you make mistakes
yeah but
I hope some day you have it all
cause I feel like a prisoner
trapped inside this broken world
while I'm playing the victim again
running in circles
to me it's all the same
and though nothing's gonna change
Still I hope someday you have it all
take this aggravation that I've thrown myself into
change this situation just cause I need something new
and still I feel like a prisoner
trapped inside this broken world
while I'm playing the victim again
running in circles
to me it's all the same
and though nothing's gonna change
Still I hope someday you have it all
if we could all depend
on what we know
if you could understand
I'm losing control
that I'm losing control
that I'm losing control
that I'm losing control
how long would you wait
just for me to call
I know you make mistakes
yeah but
I hope some day you have it all
trapped inside this broken world
while I'm playing the victim again
running in circles
to me it's all the same
and though nothing's gonna change
Still I hope someday you have it all
change this situation just cause I need something new
trapped inside this broken world
while I'm playing the victim again
running in circles
to me it's all the same
and though nothing's gonna change
Still I hope someday you have it all
on what we know
if you could understand
I'm losing control
that I'm losing control
that I'm losing control
that I'm losing control

It's called 88, because it's running in circles. When you draw the number 8, it goes in a continues track.
Thank you Van Rock for getting the meaning of the title 88 right. Simply put.. 88 bpm. Well at least thats what Sum 41 says what the 88 title means. Im not really sure about the meaning of the song lyrics tho. I guess I have always listened to this song and taken it as him talking about an ex and how he doesnt want to be bitter about what happened and just wants to wish her well and hopes that one day she will "have it all".
Passive aggressive breakup song. 88 references the song being 88 BPM and was likely a demo/working title that stuck.
im glad sum 41 has moving in a different direction than their first two cds, cause they suck. chuck was the most pleasant suprise ive had in a long time. i love how this cd has alot of different kinds of songs. a couple fast traditional punk songs complete with bass solos and all, a couple slow songs, and alot of harder songs remeniscent of early 90s metal. 88 is the best song on the cd though, with slow, then metal, then even more of an industrial, nine inch nailsish part at the end.
SUM41 IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! every cd just gets better and the music just gets heavier musically and lyrically.. great cd and band.
they have 4 cdsout now. and each one is good.
i agree; as sum 41 made more cds they got better. i guess its just experience. anyways, this song means alot of things, like being a prisoner to the world and feeling like you cant make a difference and possibly admitting defeat to your enemy.
yeah i definitely feel like its about feeling like you can't make a difference and being helpless. but when it says "someday I hope you have it all" i feel like he's talking to those who are unknowing or blind to everything and seem happy. kinda like the saying ignorance is bliss. thats just what i think about it though. it took me awhile to come up with that interpretation so i could be going way off.
I'm stuck with why it's called 88.
staplesmcjebus that's a good one.it makes more sense to me
