Butcher Blues Lyrics

Coco believe me
I'm a lonesome man
I wanna get stoned and trip some wires
I wanna get myself underground
I said that, you must believe me
When I say I'm fightin the dead
Lyin low across the evening
Can you see the lumps on my head?
But I got these voices that just keep singin out
Sayin..
"I just cant stop losin' control"
"I just cant stop losin' control"
Said that..."I just cant stop losin' control"

Trench wander pavement
Tryin to score some love
In the corner of the city
Matching faces with fees
I guess that you never been here by the look upon ya face
Standing with all the whores and cannibals
In the censored race

Singin out..
"I just cant stop losin' control"
"I just cant stop losin' control"
Said that...
"I just cant stop losin' control"
"I just cant stop losin' control"

( x 2 )

I got these voices....

Are you sure it's not "trench war on the pavement"?

I agree with Hastalavictoria... I think it's "Trench war on the pavement."

The name of the song is Butcher Blues. There is an S on the end of Blue.

Love the band. First listen to this particular track. I'm not sure it's necessarily about drugs. The line "Standing with all the whores and cannibals" may indicate different behaviors (or, yes, drugs). "Matching faces with fees" could be drug dealers and/or prostitutes. Regardless, s/he's out of control.

Um...I think it's about war. It is "trench war in the pavement," and also I think it's "matching faces with feet." These two lines seem directed at war, the former directly, that latter referring to amputations or soldiers losing limbs in battle. "Trip some wires" I always thought referred to tripping an explosive wire. I also think it's "whores and cannonballs." Which is more war references.

I wonder if this was inspired in any way by Nick Cave's "Abattoir Blues."

I guess that's not possible since those songs came out in the same year. I think of this album as being older than it is...

This song talks about how people use the system to get their work done and talks leading a heretical life to escape from this cruelty of this world

@Zeneo How does it? Can you expand?
