Ya Can't Go Home Lyrics
It's too cold to sleep tonight
We could freeze to death I warn
It's so hard to want to fight
When you wish you were never born
This time you're gonna have to choose
You can stick with me, but you're gonna lose
But it's the same thing that I hear
Ya can't go home and ya can't stay here
Ya can't go home and ya can't stay here
And I'd do anything it takes
I wish that I could change it all
But I'll drown in the pain of my mistakes
Cause when I'm done searching,
you know I'm gonna fall
We'll get a bottle to keep us warm
A little fuckin' shelter from the wicked storm
But it's the same thing that I hear
Ya can't go home and ya can't stay here
Ya can't go home and ya can't stay here
We could freeze to death I warn
It's so hard to want to fight
When you wish you were never born
This time you're gonna have to choose
You can stick with me, but you're gonna lose
But it's the same thing that I hear
Ya can't go home and ya can't stay here
I wish that I could change it all
But I'll drown in the pain of my mistakes
Cause when I'm done searching,
you know I'm gonna fall
We'll get a bottle to keep us warm
A little fuckin' shelter from the wicked storm
But it's the same thing that I hear
Ya can't go home and ya can't stay here

At the loc show he said it was about their drummer who died and he looked really sad as he sang it
This song has so much meaning to me it's really a bit unreal. I had to move away from my family due to physical and emotional abuse, and this song (not to mention all of LOC's work) helped me deal with the change. I even wrote the entire thing across my bedroom wall at my group home.
pretty obvious lyrics.. LOC are squat punks and this is about gettin kicked out of squats or being forced to live on the streets with no where to go.. so you get a 40 to warm up when its cold and just use the bottle as a pillow and you'll last the night.. worked for me, hah /a.i
you know by now you'd think they 'd get an apartment or something, but these guys seem to be squatters for life i guess, LoC, I salute you. but yeah this is about being kicked out of a squat and that theres no where else to go.
Yeah, what they said.
This song is not about getting kicked out of a squat... Usually you dont get kicked out you get arrested. C Squat is a legal squat so they never will get kicked out of there. This song is about everywhere. You can't go anywhere. Thats why its so hopeless.
i find special meaning in this song, just the title alone too.
i was recently taken from the city, which is technically a town but is considerd a city, where i lived my whole life, some of my friends there i've known since elementry, i had so many friends not only there but the bordering towns as well, this is where my roots are, my home, and i know this isnt the real meaning of the song, but its the meaning i find in it. "home" is my hometown where all my friends live, everything i know is there, and its in-convinetly located 900 miles from here, here being my moms house where i now reside, having nowhere to go now, so im stuck in this house full of abuse and hate to the unbearable point. I cant go home, and i cant stay here. also the other lyrics like its to cold to sleep tonight, its too hostel to sleep and blah blah blah
