I dumped you again
I don't understand
It's happened before
Can't take it no more

These foolish games
Always end up in confusion
I'll take you back
Just to leave you once again

I died in my dreams
What's that supposed to mean?
Got lost in the fire
I died in my dreams
Reaching out for your hand
My fatal desire

I've failed you again
Cause I let you stay
I used to pretend
That I felt OK

Just one big lie
Such a perfect illusion
I made you mine
Just to hurt you once again

I died in my dreams
What's that supposed to mean?
Got lost in the fire
I died in my dreams
Reaching out for your hand
My fatal desire...

Lauri actually said in an interview once this song is about a relationship he had with this girl where he kept breaking up with her and he didn't know why, he just kept hurting her and felt really shitty about it. And he kept having dreams where he died, or something... This song is amazing live

The Funeral Song is an apology to Lauri's exgirlfriend, Siiri Nordin. The strings it has tear it apart from the other songs The Rasmus have made. It also has two versions, the other version, which is in the single, is called: 'The Resurrection', and it is even better for it has drums... I agree with simsfreg, this song is amazing live Greeting From Mexico

I don't think this song was about Siiri. I'm pretty sure Lauri denied ever having a relationship with her. I could be wrong though, I haven't been Rasmus-obsessed in a while, but I really think it was some other random girlfriend.

simsfreq, you're right! wooho go you! lol I love this song SO much, because I can totally and scarily relate to it 100%!! I had the same situation, which makes the song mean that much more to me! it was strange though because I actually wrote a song about MY experience and then a week later i bought Dead Letters and was like "woah" that's scary how it's about the exact same thing... anyways, yes it's about some random girlfriend he kept treating like shit and didn't know why.

Lauri is scene as an angel sent to take a girl's life after she has been fatally struck by a vehicle. A big scene builds up with police everywhere and a gathering crowd as Lauri slowly makes his way to the scene of the accident. Lauri opens out his coat and crows fly out; connoting death. Lauri then kneels down by the dying girl, strokes her face and takes her life.

The song is based on a past girlfriend, who as he says in the song, dumped again, and he doesnt understand why, because it has happened so many times. he calls the relationship a foolish game, where he keeps going back to her, then hurting here over and over agian, and still doesnt understand. He says he has failed her because he let all this keep going on, while he pretended that everything was ok. it was all one big lie, disguised as one big illousion, and everytime he went back, she would smile, and in time be hurt again.

ok really, i just started listening to the band, and thought this was the best of their songs, and the meaning is amazing, because, this is exactly what is going on with my brother now. with one girl, and they keep breaking up, and getting back together, thinking that they are happy, when in reality, they arn't...

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
