This is one of their best songs. It expresses human emotion at its most rawest form.
This song is about love,regret and ultimately longing for something that will never be.
Its about a relationship that ended. The man in the song realizes he didn't appreciate his girl the way he should have and he didn't show her how much he really loved her while they were together. Once he finally did realize it she was gone and its too late. She's moved on and things won't be the same.
At times he is almost desperate in that he doesn't care if they work things out that night, he just wants to be in her presence and comfort.
Whats sad about this song is that I feel the man truly knows they will never be together again but he can't let go of her . He can't imagine his life without her because its too much for him to take in. The lyrics "theres still tommorrow", "I'll try again" "maybe just maybe", helps him cope with the loss.
At the end, if you really listen the singer sighs. Which captures the essence of his feelings and loneliness.
This is one of their best songs ever. And we all know Boyz II Men have amazing songs.
