This Charming Man (The Smiths cover) Lyrics
punctured bicycle on a hillside desolate. will nature make a man of me yet? when in this charming car. this charming man.
why pamper life's complexity when the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat ?
i would go out tonight but i haven't got a stitch to wear. this man said "it's gruesome that someone so handsome should care."
ah! a jumped-up pantry boy who never knew his place. he said "return the ring."
he knows so much about these things. (x2)

Is this a cover of DCFC's This Charming Man, or did DCFC do it first? Or were they both a cover of someone else's This Charming Man?
This is such a good song, why are there no comments?!
The Smiths did it first.
yeah, dude, how did you not know the Smiths?
maybe its just me .. but i think the braid cover is better than the death cab cover.. i dont know..
yeah. the braid version makes you think they created the song themselves.
yeah I realized my dumb mistake after a bit of research. I now have 4 different versions of this song, but the Braid one is still better. I mean, even better than the Smiths version, even though I like them a whole lot now too
The death cab version is too poppy.
the braid version seems to have more grit, but i think it's due to Bob's vocals. But it lacks that whole morrissey "i hate myself" feel. you know what i'm sayin'. hah
the funny thing is, braid is influenced from the smiths if known of you caught that
Yeah, I kind of figured that, both have very literate and clever melancholy lyrics. I think The Smiths were an influence on emo in general though and least lyrically(and maybe sometimes the guitars.)
