I love this song. The Trews played this when I saw them live, and believe me, they are INCREDIBLE live. Real Canadian rock. I think this song is about leaving everyone behind. The Trews sing "It's alright Ma" and "So I'll ask you my friend" in this song, so it's not just directed to one person in particular, but all of their friends and family. They say that although everyone is worried about them, they'll be fine and will return to their friends and family.
