Let's take the train to anywhere
I want to feel the wind in my hair with you.
Let's tell them all, that soon they'll know
How very wrong they were to think we'd never go,

And if you tell me yours I'll tell you mine
And we will clean the cobwebs out of one another's minds.

Don't ever say you've tried to leave me in this life
Don't ever say you've tried for the last time.

We'll get a house where the trees hang low and pretty little flowers
On our window sill will grow
We'll make friends with the milk man and a buchter Mr. Timms
Will give us discounts when he can,

And if you tell me yours I'll tell you mine,
And we will clean the cobwebs out of one another's minds.

Don't ever say you've tried to leave me in this life
Don't ever say you've tried for the last time
LA DI DA DI DA...

Don't ever say you've tried to leave me in this life
Don't ever say you've tried to leave me in this life
Don't ever say you've tried for the last time

I think its a song about two people that are deeply in love with one another. It is describing that all she needs in life is that one other person and everything will be perfect. The chorus relates int eh way that life will be perfect and "dont even say you've tried ot leave me in this life" is saying i can't live without you and "Don't ever say you've tried for the last time" Is following on from the line before saying if its the last time you would leave me it would be forever. So basically it is saying how much she needs this other person to survive and the future they could build together

My interpretation is the verses are words of her dreams (to be with him) and the chorus is more about waking up to her reality (to be without him).

I can really relate to this song!

And adrianadottydot is right on the money. The verses are about what she wants to happen and be with him and then the chorus is reality, realising it's not gonna happen.

    sigh

I don't really think the chorus is about someone leaving the girl - when she says, don't ever say you've tried to leave me in this life, I think it means, don't tell me you've tried to kill yourself. And the verses are her showing the boy how much they can do in life and to keep trying (which is why she says, don't ever say you've tried for the last time).

    BUt that's just my interpretation!

music.muse I think you might be right!

"Don't ever say you've tried for the last time" could also be something they say. You know. 'I won't do it again. that's the last time I tried'

    Wow! It makes sense!

    My Interpretation

i think the song is a beautiful cry for love out of desperation...

she is saying "our life could be this amazing, please don't ever leave me"

you can hear the beautiful sorrow in her voice..

I agree with everyone really. The line that sticks out to me is the "let's tell them all, cuz soon they'll know/how very wrong they were to think we'd never go." I think nobody expects this relationship to last very long, but she is hopeful that they could have a great life together-- as long as he doesn't leave her first.

    Song Meaning

I think this is about a couple getting away from all the negative. Nobody thought they'd really go but they want to start a life together. And the guy has a past, but they'll work through it and could have a wonderful life together.

To me, this song reminds me a lot of Nightminds - perhaps written with the same person/relationship in mind?

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
