Last Tide Lyrics

Every bird fall weak on lifeless ground
Every eye swelled from tears ever clear
Every seed broken in Spring lived till Fall
All your babies be around to see them growing up

Will you be here with me my love
When the warm sun turns to ash
And the last tide disappear
All darkness near

I kept quiet so you'd think my heart was tough
I never showed you if I loved you enough
The dreams I had yeah I kept but I wouldn't dare
Share with you for fear of things still living in me

Will you be next to me my love
When the cold moon vanishes
And the last cries no yells
For it to hear

Wow...this song came out years ago and no one's said anything about it..Well, I think this is one of the more straightforward Sun Kil Moon songs, but I think it's also one of the most beautiful. I've always wondered if it intentionally links to "Carry Me Ohio" with the lyrics "I never showed you if I loved you enough..." (Carry Me Ohio mourns, "Sorry that I could never love you back, I could never care enough, in those last days.")

I love this song. It's a shame it's so short. And yeah, I also thought it linked to "Carry Me Ohio". Beautiful song.

It's not just a link to Carry Me Ohio, the entire album is linked together as one complete portrait of the singer. It's a character study.
