Devastator Lyrics
Neon black tanks grope the skyline.
Neon black cocks rot into poison wine.
Neon black flowers on the mass grave.
Neon black corpses, stacked, eclipse the horizon.
Neon black whip, war gang hiss;
while Devastator sips from the crystal chalice.
Neon black lemonade drip drips from his grin crammed with cool charm,
culture and opulence.
The bayonets clamor on all night, hemming scars into the hillside.
Devastator sleeps under satin sheets.
"Death campaigns are a fucking gold mine."
And all the swine at the cabaret lick their lips as they clap along.
Devastator, in a negligee, does a strip tease while he sings this song:
"Everybody needs a little Devastation!"
Neon black dirt in the garden.
All the roses blossom into the skulls this season.
Neon black branches hanging from the trees.
Every limb is empty, robbed of pleasant memories.
The fields are throbbing fresh cut bruises.
Devastator violates with dirty fingers.
Neon black flames cook the calm air.
The party's over, what was your favorite gift?
Neon black future charging like a bull with a funeral bouqet ready to explode.
Neon black cocks rot into poison wine.
Neon black flowers on the mass grave.
Neon black corpses, stacked, eclipse the horizon.
Neon black whip, war gang hiss;
while Devastator sips from the crystal chalice.
Neon black lemonade drip drips from his grin crammed with cool charm,
culture and opulence.
Devastator sleeps under satin sheets.

Politics politics politics. Really shows how much theyve changed from their socio charged lyrics from BPB to a more political view (on the war in iraq?). Death campaigns are a fucking gold mine...
Burn Piano Island, Burn was mostly aimed for technological experimentation.. BUT there were strong messages in it. Mostly upon womanizing and women with a lack of respect for themselves.
Now on this song... I'd say War on Iraq as well. Look back to Celebrator.. Celebrator seems like this celebration of intrusion. Devastator would be more the lines of the attempt of justification. "Everybody needs a little devastation" The Devastator is the United States.. That's my two bits.
I know this is random, but the first minute and 12 seconds of this song reminds me of an African tribe.
all the chanting from Johnny?
it's hella good. i can just imagine the same thing coming from a dancing, naked African woman with a tub of water on her head.
The chanting sounds like Arab music. It then goes into their normal selves. Then it sounds like army music. Then ends in melody.
you mean ARABIC music.
it's a reminition of old slave songs, the buzzing harmonica-esque noise also lead me to believe that. but the devestator sounds more like a cross dressing slave owner. J.Edgar Hoover anyone?
Very political. Also another one about the media influence. The television media has been the conduit for our current administration singing and dancing about why we need to run into other countries and totally devastate them. They're trying to keep us entertained, to captivate us into following them. A lot of ugly imagery in the song - because war is an ugly thing, and 'Devastator' is totally shameless about being the instigator of that.
"Death campaigns are a fucking gold mine."
This line absolutely reminded me of the current presidential administration's shady ties to oil money and such.
the begining sounds like a native American chant to me, powow style.
from a musical point of view this almost makes me think of a new orleands funeral because it starts with the slow dirge and then rocks the fuck out. lyrically it's genious. the first section as was already talked about does a great job of using imagry to show almost associate the invasion with like a rape because of lines like neon black tanks groping the sky. the devastator is probably just a generalization of the american capitalist spirit. just another war looking out for buisness interests.
this is killing me... why do BB say NEON so much..not just in devastator but in ALL of their songs? and now a new side project, "neon blonde"???
